![]() ![]() ![]() If you were a vendor such as Apple and a vendor like Mathworks came to you on the first day of the very first beta release (i.e., as early as possible) and said "One of your changes breaks our program when used with Asian language locals", then some of the things that you as a vendor would ask would be "How much sales do these math people drive our way? Do lots of people buy our computers to run their programs? Is their market sector strategically important to us? How much is it going to cost us to fix this error? Does the error affect other programs?" And if the drive-sales figure is low and the market is not considered strategic, then you as a vendor are only going to bother to fix the bug if doing so is cheap. ![]()
